There are activities we do that give us life, meaning, and purpose. These activities include feeding oneself, bathing, dressing, taking care of children or grandchildren, cooking, socializing, going to church, doing leisure and hobby activities, and more. Each person has activities that they find important and fulfilling, and due to age or certain conditions, some people are unable to perform these tasks.
Occupational therapy can help patients who struggle with keeping their independence and with engaging in any of their daily activities because of age-related changes and illness or disability. This can either be a difficulty in walking, weakness, arthritis, difficulties with fine motor skills, vision and hearing changes, memory loss, or dementia.
Together with a licensed occupational therapist, we explore strategies for the patient to continue engaging in the activities that are important to him or her, and help identify compensatory strategies, home modifications, and/or assistive devices to help with everyday task performance.
Our sessions are available in 4-session and 8-session packages, with an option for an initial evaluation with a written report. Enroll with us now!
