12TH ANNIVERSARY: SAMA-SAMANG SAYA, HATAW NA!

On September 19, 2026, Sunshine Place celebrated its 12th anniversary with a vibrant OPM- and Filipino music–themed celebration held at the 5F Roof Deck. Bringing together members, instructors, guests, and the Sunshine Place community, the afternoon was filled with music, laughter, and moments of togetherness as everyone came together to celebrate another meaningful year.

This year’s celebration, “Sama-Samang Saya, Hataw Na!”, paid tribute to the timeless music and songs that have become part of Filipino life and memories across generations. Inspired by the spirit of OPM, the celebration highlighted the joy of music as a way to bring people together, create memories, and celebrate the many stories shared within the Sunshine Place community.

Adding to the excitement of the celebration was the presence of special guest Mitch Valdez, whose participation brought an extra touch of entertainment and star power to the festivities. Her presence added to the afternoon’s celebration of Filipino music, talent, and the enduring joy that comes from sharing meaningful moments with the community.

Adding to the Filipino spirit of the occasion, guests were invited to come dressed in their best modern Filipiniana or Barong-inspired attire, bringing color, character, and a distinctly Filipino touch to the celebration. From the music to the outfits, every detail reflected the warmth and festive spirit of the occasion.

More than just a celebration of another year, Sunshine Place’s 12th anniversary was a celebration of the people, friendships, experiences, and memories that have shaped the community through the years. Like a beloved OPM song that brings back a special memory, each year at Sunshine Place becomes part of a larger story shared by the people who have been part of its journey.

Twelve years, countless memories, and one community — still making music, making memories, and making every moment count.
