ADULT BALLET

A Low-Impact Classical Ballet Class For Beginners Ages 25 to 40

Ballet lessons are usually offered to toddlers and kids because at such a young age, the body can still be trained for the discipline that this type of dance requires. Which is why for some adults who have always wanted to learn ballet but are hesitant because of their age, having to learn ballet remains a far-fetched dream.

Here in Sunshine Place, our seniors can attest to the fact that learning new things late is better than not learning at all. Introducing Adult Ballet, a special dance class taught by Ms. Pamela Ramos, long-time ballet teacher and a pioneer member of the prestigious Philippine Ballet Theater.

This dance workshop is exclusively for adults between ages 25 to 40, with little to no experience in ballet. Lessons will cover essential concepts and fundamental techniques of ballet, as well as introductory elements of gymnastics to enhance flexibility and strength.

By the end of this course, students will have a solid foundation in basic ballet movements and techniques. They will be prepared to perform simple ballet routines and will be ready to advance to the next level of ballet training.

This dance class is open for beginners, dance enthusiasts, or anyone who just wants to try something new. It’s never too late to learn ballet so sign up now!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Ms. Pamela Ramos started her ballet at age seven, in the Felicitas L. Radaic School of Dance at St. Theresa’s College, Q.C.  She formally took and passed the Royal Academy Examinations from Primary to intermediate level.  From there, she went to the School of Ballet and Dance Arts and trained under Ms. Vella C. Damian, where she eventually became a junior faculty at the age of 13.  During that time, she joined Dance Concert Company, under the artistic direction of Mr. Eric V. Cruz. This opened the doors for her to join the Philippine Ballet Theatre, as one of the pioneer members of the second ballet company subsidized by the government at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.  She took dance lessons under Tina Santos, Inday Gaston- Manosa, Julie Borromeo, Steve Villaruz, Maniya Barredo, Nicolas Pacana, Lisa Macuja and  Nonoy Froilan, Joy Coronel, Tita Radaic, William Morgan and Mr. Robert Barnett. She also took teaching seminars under Alicia Alonzo of Cuba and Christine Walsh of Australian Conservatoire of Ballet (ACB) Then, she joined The Oscars, under the tutelage of Mr. Bobby Ongkiko.

After her stint at the Oscars and getting married, Pam momentarily retired from dancing and teaching.  But as the saying goes, a dancer will always be a dancer, and for Pam, dance teaching is her passion so she went back to teaching and now, she is the Artistic directress of her own ballet school, the Little Ballerina School of Dance.
