Chair Dancing

Not your regular dance class, Chair Dancing is done seated in your very own chair using wide movements for both upper and lower limbs and stretching those tight shoulders and upper body, moving to the tunes of golden music of yester-years.

Especially designed for ‘super seniors’, those in wheels, walkers, hip and lower leg injury or medical procedures and revive the energy and happy hormones you get after dancing. Then again, who says it just has to be them? Even active seniors, office desk-dwellers or stay-at-home can loosen up those tight joints and muscles and frozen shoulders. Surprisingly to say, an hour of continuous arm and leg isolation workouts will equally give you a sweat.

Choreographer | Dance Instructor

He started dancing at a young age with the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Dance Group, a world-renowned group representing the Philippines in different countries. He widened his knowledge and interest in dance through studying Ballet, Jazz, Folk and Contemporary dance in the Philippines and abroad. He became part of the Metropolitan Dance Theater and Hotlegs as a choreographer, and has been associated with Bodytalk, Dance Masters, and Hamstrings.

His skills led him to become TV commercials and theater plays choreographic director. He is currently working as a dance facilitator at GMA’s Artist Center, and jazz instructor /choreographer at Arts in the City.

Danny Vinculado, has been working with Sunshine Place for more than five years on developing elderly-age appropriate dances only available at Sunshine Place. Among a few is Yeba-Indak – unique healthy exercise program featuring OPM music and folk dance steps, Chair Dancing – seated dancing for elderly with hip, waist, leg medical concerns, and Tap Dancing as he shares his expertise on Broadway choreography.
